  8. For feature i always assume audio comes from audio post in perfect shape and meets the image in dcp mastering stage. Now it seems that graphics would be good to make or put over in Fusion if you are working in Resolve. (in resolve some aliasing issues which i have to show BM) All of course is relative to the workflow and tools you have or use. General idea is the same.
  9. Is you application giving any risk or why you say it is risky? I finish my features in Resolve where i grade. I have done it in two ways: 1. render out master file in EXR, DPX, Prores 4444 etc and use it as master timeline which i populate with subtitles, heads and tails and so no. From this mastering timeline i just render version that is suitable for my DCP software. Audio comes separately from audio post house. All is in sync and work wonders while doing dcp. 2. i do all the things on master grading timeline with head, tail and subtitles. For smaller simpler jobs it is ok but when i need multiple copys to make faster option 1. is faster to render many times. To have better security and digital hygiene i export project to separate drive so i have no risk from the application like you mention.
  10. Yes this is very true. What i have felt is that with great material it is not that hard to come up with good imagery but that by itself only does not generate new work if you do not show it in correct places. Also feature work is more direct connection thing. I have done around 10 features 3 of those out of country in a way. It is not that easy to get connected.

  12. I wonder if colorists have any representation that DOP's and Directors tend to have sometimes? How would one find such rep?
  13. Usually i got noise if under exposed like the shots inside. Outside with red filter not so much. At times when pushed really hard i saw some patterns emerge and i tried to avoid that but not the regular noise but some not so common patterns.
  14. I mean actual red glass filter in matte box to help with some details. This was something that came out of camera after that filter. No other colors at all.
  15. I went with ACES as i like color management there better and some material was shot in color also but half of it with red glass filter. For me it felt logical way to do it as i do with all my latest grading jobs.
  16. Maybe in few years we will all go to AMD cpus's with computer company no one knows yet. (look their yesterdays news with dual cpu's with 64 cores on desktop and possibly 16 gpu support) I really agree on that we go on with our work and creativity, some boxes are not as nice maybe by UI but they get the jobs done while others make mobiles. When it appeared that Apple will not be good as computer company i also skipped it as phone company.
  17. Peter from BM just confirmed on their forum that Temp and Tint on Raw are adjustable with encoders. So this is as big deal as i imagined.
  18. Two main things that got me super exited was Offsets on balls and Raw under one button. By manual it seems promising.

  22. I did get some guidance from this video here: As i'm not that masterful yet i would leave interpreting to you to do so i can not give you detailed explanation as it is new path for me also to walk and i'm in the middle of the process still. Hope that helps.
