Alexander Feichter - Schall und Rauch Bewegtbild GmbH June 5, 2019 Share June 5, 2019 Hi, is anyone working with those Luts? They are a bit expensive, so before buying them I'd like to know if they "work as advertised". Cheers Alex
Alexander Feichter - Schall und Rauch Bewegtbild GmbH June 17, 2019 Author Share June 17, 2019 I bought them in the meantime. All that color transform feeding in and feeding out is over now. Just straight and smooth in Aces. Really pleased.
Alexander Feichter - Schall und Rauch Bewegtbild GmbH February 12, 2020 Author Share February 12, 2020 I have been asked what the Cinegrain Pipeline LUTs do to the image. Well, here you are... ealsong February 13, 2020 Share February 13, 2020 it's great examples. thank you for works. I wonder why cinegrain.com doesn't show some samples. Currently I'm testing zraw footage from zcam E2 in Davinci Resolve with an ACEScct AP1 colorspace.

They seem to be subtle at first sight by just adding a little "look". But that's what matters.

But that's what matters. There's a lot of colourists who are perfectly able (and prefer) to do these sorts of look adjustments themselves, especially when the price of this set is quite high. However, if it suits your workflow and earns you money, I've no particular problem with using them, and they can make a good starting point for further adjustment. Be aware that where you put your LUT in the node chain can have consequences on your ability to further refine the image.

I get more pronounced results from Pipeline, which leaves me confused when looking at your examples. Here are some examples of Alexa IDT vs Pipeline 2383. You can see my Pipeline 2383 exhibits more yellow greens, a warmer overall white balance, green in the blues etc. My workflow for these examples is Aces 1.1, Alexa-AcesCCT, Pipeline LUT, AcesCCT-REC709.
