I have shared my thoughts on some looks / LUTs with them and have them ask for technical support, but basically never got a reply or just a short answer that didn't answer the question. The information on the website is incomplete. For instance, the Kharma LUTs, they are mixing up the names of negative stocks and print stocks, so how are we supposed to know which combinations are used? 'We have added the original Cineon to P3/XYZ and soft clip versions. The Kharma collection also includes a version of 2383 based on a true data set generated by the image science company Light Illusion.' Nope, it's not there. Or which of the 3 versions is which one? '4K scanned film grain' Nope, it's not there. Cinelook. What can I say, pretty much all looks are unusable. The Blackmagic Gen 5 Film to REC709 just clips and looks off. It's just technically wrong. The mid gray shifts down, the highlights are clipping Aryan Film LUT. Apart from the questionable name (who comes up with this?), I fell for the gossip marketing again. "Ravengrade just acquired a print-film emulation LUT from the Warner Bros color department, based on a 1990s Kodak film stock. It combines authentic film texture with deep cyan-leaning colors and warm natural skin tones." Now there is zero explanation on how to use this LUT for REC709, but as the website states 'The LUTs expect Cineon and are designed for rec709 / P3 d65 out'. So I use a CST to go from Blackmagic Gen 5 to P3 D65 / Cineon but the results are just....rubbish. Honestly I'm pretty fed up, mainly because of the lack of communication. My advice is to look elsewhere if you're looking for proper film emulations or nice conversions. JP2499 is a great free option. Link to comment Share on other sites
