Tom Evans February 5, 2018 Share February 5, 2018 Can a LUT that is applied in the Alexa camera while shooting transfer to DaVinci Resolve automatically when it's not shot RAW but Apple ProRes 4444?
Miodrag Popovic February 5, 2018 Share February 5, 2018 For Alexa MINI, SXT, Amira... actual Look file is part of metadata regardless of rec format, RAW or ProRes. In Davinci Resolve you can right click on timeline clip thumbnail and use "Apply ARRI CDL and LUT" from the menu or use ARRI META EXTRACT if you need separate LUT and CDL files. 4
Tom Evans February 6, 2018 Author Share February 6, 2018 Thank you Miodrag, it solved everything! How does the ARRI META EXTRACT work?
Miodrag Popovic February 6, 2018 Share February 6, 2018 ARRI META EXTRACT is a free download from arri web page. Simple registration is required for access. As name says, the app will extract all metadata (collected by ALEXA camera) from QT, ArriRAW or MXF files and save CSV with all metadata, AML (Alexa Look file), CDL and LUT(cube) as separate files. LUT and CDL can be used in Resolve (or other) to recreate the look. Real fun begins when you dig into CSV file. VFX department loves it. Check it out. 4
