Hi
I set up a colourising / grading studio NICEGRADE in London Fitzrovia in 2017.
It's been a fun year, and I thought I'd share the current showreel.
I think it's best to look at the website:
Mostly Directed by Rankin, mostly shot on Arri Alexa, all graded in DaVinci Resolve.Clients include Aston Martin, Dazed & Confused, Love Magazine, The Muppets, Beats and Alexander Wang.
Thanks!

Hi Nicolas
That's not a bad idea..
I will put that out as a new topic
Unless an NYC colorist out there who own the Control Surface sees this... drop me a line!
Thanks

Hi
(I put a similar question up on hardware but no one answered it, so I thought I'd ask here as well - hope that is OK.)
I am based in New York.
I am not in a post house now but i am having interesting conversations with some, and I may get an offer of some sort soon.
The issue is, I have literally never touched a full-sized Da Vinci control surface, and I think it is really important for me to get some familiarity with one.
I wondered if anyone can suggest how I could get some familiarity?
10 minutes would be beneficial; An hour would be great; any more would be insanely amazing.
I can pay a rental fee if that helps..?
Many thanks to y'all

Hi,
I am based in Manhattan.
I want to be learn how to use the full sized DaVinci control surface that is used in facilities houses.
I think I need something between an hour and a day, just to familiarise myself with its functions.
I wondered how I could do this..
Can it be rented? Does anyone own one that I could pay to train on?
Does anyone have any advice?
Many thanks

Hi there,
I am based in New York and I’m looking for an chance to get experience in a facilities house.
I do grading on a freelance basis to photographer/directors, but I’d love to be in with the big boys.
When I look at advertised opportunities, they are always for highly experienced 5 year+ Colorists.
I keep wondering how those people got in at the beginning - is it through personal recommendation, or internships, or colleges?
Can anyone give me some advice on how to get that very first position?
Many thanks

Hi.
I just joined Lowepost, and this looks like a really good group of people, so hi!
I'm a Londoner currently living in New York, colorising under the name NiceGrade.
I see that people are putting their showreels up for discussion so I thought I'd do the same.
Please comment if you like... I'd love to hear what people think.
Thanks!

Thanks Emily, I appreciate that.
And I've benefitted enormously from Rankin's talent - the more beautiful the films you grade, the easier it is to look good at grading!
