I'm finding there's a lot of resources out there on the mechanics and how-to of color grading (mainly here on Lowepost), but I'm looking at learning more around the theoretical side of it. Like why choose a more desaturated look vs a saturated look, why go for a more orange/teal look, or why color X makes an audience feel X emotion, etc etc. There's obviously thousands of examples.
I feel like the 'why' should come before the 'how' on a grading job, and that's the part I'm wanting to learn more about.
Any tips, videos or resources out there to share, to delve deeper in this?
