  2. When browsing through my timeline the system says 'failed to initialize Decklink card'. Do I need to have it installed when not outputting to a monitor. It should mainly be set up for transcoding.
  3. I use that site as well, a lot of great reference images there!
  4. I love it! I can see your arguments and it will probably not compete with the Z800 series. But, after the latest Mac Pro release (that was a joke!) I'm pretty confident that they will do a great Q.
  5. It's reported an issue with the latest files and Red Rocket enabled. If you have the card installed, try to disable it.
  6. You could enter the color industry a lot of different ways. I think you could manage to learn the basics by working yourself through all the theory online, practice the fundamentals and put everything color related high on your priority list. I started working as an editor, moving on to online and color work on documentaries and TV shows. That was actually great because it was no look development involved, simply balancing and matching thousands of shots and setting the levels where they should be.
  7. Hi Fernando, I guess you have checked http://icolorist.com/courses/? How experienced are you? You could sign up on some of the online courses to get some basic insight, but I would recommend that you hunt a junior position in one of the studios it you are passed that part. Nicolas
  8. Thank you for your great answer. That was exactly what I had in mind, but in my experience the different camera footage behave very differently. I prefer the skin tones and high light roll off from Alexa and the way Red capture night exteriors. That is categoristics that I'm unsure that a color transform can cope with. If it was that easy, why should people shoot with Alexa when the can have the same results with Red?
  9. Great, thanks! Just one questions... isn't it a point that the different camera manufacturers create footage with different starting points? I guess in most situations you want Alexa to look like Alexa and Red to look like Red?
  10. I have a mixed timeline with both Alexa 65 and RED Epic footage. I would like to know if I could do anything to match the footage before applying my main correction? Any transform LUTs, gamma corrections or color space transformations that could help bringing the footage closer to each other?
  11. Hi Margus! I would like to know how I can set up Resolve to work with ACES. I don't think you take credit from others by being helpful and explaining me how I can do this in the most used color correcting software available.
  12. Can someone please guide me through setting up a project for ACES in Resolve?
  13. Thank you Bruno, that is really nice of you! I'm using the latest version.
  14. Great work @Artemi Sintsov. But I think you should have retained more details. Looks like the dark parts in the right corner are clipped. It could take focus away from the other elements.
  15. The audio is perfectly in sync when playback on both Avid and DaVinci but the desktop audio is out of sync. Any ideas?
  16. I deleted the render cache as you said and it worked like a charm, thank you Margus!
  17. Thank you guys, I rendered the timeline and the output was fine. I will investigate the problem when I have time and let you know what caused the problem.
  18. One of the clips on my timeline are marked "media offline". Strangely, when I play through the clips in the edit room it's there despite of that the thumb says that it's offline. I can play the clip in the color room too, but sometimes (not always) the screen flash media offline. Any idea what is going on? It's not a timecode / clip conflict as I don't have any options or opportunity to right click and change the source clip.
  19. That's great to know, I didn't know that I could archive the media from within Resolve. Thank you.
  20. How do you backup your projects? Do you use the internal backup system and do you consolidate your raw data or simply keep a clean master file without any corrections applied?
