  1. Thank you. You can add a Resize node and choose the exact 1920x1080 resolution.
  2. You can use the Crop node as a final step, but you also have the option to choose different standard resolutions when rendering through the Deliver tab. Each render format supports various revolutions through the format settings.
  3. Mismatching domains cause problems when applying the Corner Positioner. One trick is to scale the inserts to the project resolution before connecting them to the Corner Positioner.
  4. Connecting the mask to the Effect Mask input of the MediaIn node gives me the behavior I would expect: both the mask and the footage are scaled down by the Transform node. However, there is some weirdness connecting a mask to the Effect Mask input of Transform node - the mask seems to use the un-transformed version and you get a weird amalgam output. A workaround would be to leave the mask connected to MediaIn or to use it further downstream. For example, add a Merge. Connect the Transform to the Merge FG input, the mask to the Merge Effect Mask input, and a Background solid color (with Alpha set to 0) to the Merge BG input.
  5. Will it import correctly into the Media tab? If it does, could be a Loader bug. One workaround might be to convert it to an image sequence outside Resolve.
  6. No problems here - I'm using the Studio version on a PC - although I haven't installed the latest release yet.
  7. Mask shapes? You can do the same. If a node has parameter animation, you can also add and delete keyframes in the Spline or Keyframes panels.
  8. If a Loader fails to load a file, it turns red and its Frames menu says Fail. There's something it doesn't like about the video I would guess.
  9. It's a bit out of my area of expertise, but I would assume you would have to use another piece of software, like CalMAN, or a piece of hardware, like a LUT box.
  10. If you use the version of Fusion that is built into Resolve, Resolve supports monitor LUTs, which you can create with external calibration hardware and software. Otherwise, Fusion only offers viewer LUTs which approximate various outputs. To assign a LUT to a reference monitor, you will have to go outside of Resolve of Fusion.
  11. Theoretically, that should work. The Planar Transform tool works best if the input resolution is the same as the project resolution (at least it's easier to set up that way).
  12. When it comes to Merges, the FG input always wins, unless there is a mask connected to the Merge Effect Mask input, or the Merge Apply Mode is set to something like Screen, or the Merge Blend slider is dropped below 1.0.
  13. That should be an alpha issue. Disable the Alpha channel for the color tool (you can choose what channels a tool affects - check the Settings tab). Something similar may happen if there is not proper alpha premultiplication (hence there is an Alpha Multiply tool).
  14. The Loader gives you the Trim controls. Or, as mentioned, just use Timespeed.
  15. Bring the footage in through an additional Loader. Set the Loader's Trim and Hold Last Frame parameters to make a freeze frame. Mask the Loader and track it on top of the footage coming through MediaIn.
  16. You are welcome. Thanks for checking it out.
  17. If you want the offset to be the same distance from the stroke, you do not have to keyframe the offset.
  18. I just tested it using 16. No problems. There are, however, differences between the Stroke brush or Multistroke brush. The Stroke brush paths can be manipulated individually, but last the entire timeline. The Multistroke brush paths only last one frame but cannot be manipulated individually.
  19. From my understanding, AP0 is an archival space with a larger gamut. In contrast, AP1 is designed for grading and VFX work with a gamut more closely related to Rec 2020.
  20. No, sorry, the Polygon tool would be an alternative masking choice. For paint cloning, you have to stick with the options that come with the Paint tool.
  21. Sorry for the late reply... The Rectangle tool does not provide a means to rotate the shape, or add a soft edge. If those things are required, it might be better to use a different masking process (such as a Polygon tool). The left eye requires the same steps as the right eye. I really just repeated the process.
  22. What I described can be done in Fusion. The Color tab has its own set of masking tools. I actually have not used the Edit tab too much, buy would say no.
  23. There are two ways you can approach this: 1) Remove a piece of text in the shape of the person with a subtractive mask. The cut out text is placed on top of the shot with a Merge where the text is the FG connection and the shot is the BG connection. 2) Cut out the person and place him/her on top of the text with a Merge. The cut out person is the FG connection and the text is the BG connection. Then the output of that Merge is connected to the FG of a second Merge and the original shot is connected to the BG of second Merge.
  24. Ah, good point. Thanks for reminding us of that.
