Hi guys!

I love this tutorial, but I had some serious issues towards the end that I can't seem to fix.  I went through it twice because I thought I must have missed a step, but I'm pretty sure I followed single step.  I tried my best to fix it, but something is happening in the Color Curves node when I go to correct the curve that makes the original foreground sky start to rip through the background still.  Almost like what would happen with colors in the Chroma Keyer when adjusting to get the key.  I also seem to have some strange green spill on the runner at the end and I'm not sure how to take care of it.  Any tips are much appreiciated. Oh, and I'm running on DaVinci Resolve 16.2.4  Thanks!

I don't have the project in front of me right now, but one thing to check is the alpha. Make sure the Curves tool is not affecting the alpha channel by turning off the Alpha check box. These problems can sometimes arise from premultiplication issues or an unwanted adjustment of the alpha channel.

Yes, that's actually one of the first things I checked because I thought it might be affecting it, but I definitely unchecked the alpha and was only adjusting the RGB levels in the curves.  It definitely has me stumped.

I took a quick look at the videos (it's been some time since I looked at this course). I don't see anything obvious, but it may be worth testing the premultiplication. Try running the Alpha Multiply into the Curves tool, or experiment with different locations for the Alpha Multiply tool. Whenever I have odd behavior, I try to figure out what's going on with the alpha throughout the network.

Somehow when I tried to follow along the 1st lesson to Create Database, after selecting the folder, it says "please create an empty folder for the new database"

I'm using Resolve 17.1.1

Found the answer.

Create a folder in laptop called Database. Leave it empty. Once created copy over the contents into the folder. Restart Davinci Resolve, you will be prompted to upgrade database.
