  1. Hey everyone, I have a question about when it's acceptable to move from a Jr. Colorist to a Sr. Colorist? Just wondering if there is a timeline, like an apprenticeship would have (4-5 years)? I've been editing for just over 2 years, color correcting for a year and have completed several courses on grading and correction. To clarify I'm not going to call myself a Sr. colorist anytime soon but I'm just wondering what to expect going forward in the coming years. Cheers
  2. Hi everyone! I am selling my micro panel (Blackmagic Micro panel) because I have bought another panel. I have barely used it because I have been using the panel we have in the office. It is in excellent condition. 😊 Price is $1000 AUS (selling in Australia ONLY/Postage cost is not included) Original price was $1373 I still have the receipt. Contact: I am living in Sydney. postprod.clementbouchet@gmail.com https://www.clementbouchet.com/
  3. Hello! Just found this forum so please go easy if I'm breaking any rules. Please let me know if there's a better place to put this type of post. Often I'm a lone filmmaker so I can make simple mistakes sometimes, it's terrible. This time I didn't have a lens hood and went with the shot anyway and yikes this clip is underexposed. It's for a music video for a friend and I really want the visuals to match how talented my friend is. Here's the underexposed clip: And here's what the rest of the footage looks like: It looks like the underexposed shot is too stylized. I thought it'd help to not have the blacks crushed, but I tried raising the midtones, but it makes it look even more stylized/washed out. I can send any screenshots to show what I mean if it helps. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this?
  4. First of all, I'm not 100% certain if this is the best place to ask a question like this, but it seemed like the place to begin my witch hunt. I'm currently in the process of opening a small business centered around selling area rugs. However what we're doing is a little different because we aren't going to have any in store product. It's all digital and we're using a projector to display life size rugs in a mock living room setting. All of that aside what I need to accomplish is making sure the color of my projected image matches up with the real life rug itself (which I have samples of to color correct against.) As you may know when the projector projects the image a lot of color is lost so what I'm doing is altering the digital image using adobe lightroom and photoshop and comparing that projected image to the real thing. The projector is a Sony VPL5HZ700L. If you can offer any advice on how to off set this difference in color that would be incredibly invaluable. Thanks, CharlyWho.

  6. Hey folks, This is my first reel. Please, feel free to comment and critique. I don't have a large number of projects under my belt, there are 6 featured here and 2-3 others that are somewhat reel worthy - but for the most part this is the best of the best. Thanks! It's an excellent community here, I'm always eager to read more. :-)
