  1. Hi there, I'm working in Resolve on a mac with a cleanfeed to my EIZO CS2700s via an Ultrastudio 3G over HDMI. Regardless of whether I set my monitor's input range to "limited" to match Resolves' Data Levels set to "video" or set both to "full", ticking the "Use 4:4:4 SDI"-option in Resolve (project settings --> master settings --> video monitoring) results in a huge brightness-shift. So that left me wondering whether I should check or uncheck the "Use 4:4:4 SDI"-option and why it's even altering my signal over HDMI? Thank you for your help - I'm really confused at that point...   2. Hey everyone, so I am a beginner in the world of color grading and there is something that's just very confusing to me. So on the Nvidia control panel of my computer I can find an option to switch between full and limited RGB, it was limited by default but I switched it to full when I read some reddit threads saying one should always set that option to full (not color grading related). But now in my color grading process I wonder if I should keep leaving it on full? Is there any time in which I have to use limited? what about the Resolve export functions in which I can also set it to full or limited? P.S: I dont own any calibration device, also I just have a humble HP monitor but I want to get as close as possible to a faithful image with what I have.
  3. Hi everyone,😊 Looks like the CG248 4K monitor has been discontinued. I need a self calibrated monitor because I might go in a country where there are no experts and proper calibration tools. I can see there are others Eizo monitor which could do the job but there are HDR. It might be a bit overkill for me. I will mostly do REC709 grade. Should I invest in an HDR monitor like the ColorEdge CG247X or the ColorEdge CG279X? My budget is $4000 Do you know other brands who offers Self calibrated solutions for video colour grading? (up to UHD) My budget is $4000 (Australian) A lot of questions I know ^^ Thank you!!!!!!!!!🙂
  4. I'm fairly new to grading and I've been struggling with monitor calibration ever since. I'm using Resolve with a 2019 MacBook Pro laptop connected up to my EIZO CG277 monitor via a DisplayPort to usb C cable. Usually I'm working in retouching so I use the inbuilt calibration profile for that. However when grading I've been switching to a sRGB profile to try and keep everything more consistent when exporting and viewing in VLC/QT etc... Would the more advanced users be able to advise what profiles I should be using? also if theres any colour settings I should be changing in DaVinci? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  5. Are everybody ok with grading using a monitor with 700-800:1 ANSI contrast? This is pretty usual contrast ratio (when set to 100 nit) on so called grading monitors like NEC, BenQ, etc. I mean, for grading you should have at least 2000:1 ratio. Black at 0,05 nit or lower. But I found, for some reason I'm more accurate in blacks when I work at monitors with 700-800 contrast ratio compared to 1150-1350:1. I know about angles, ips, OLED, environment lighting standards, etc. Just curious what you think about working with not 2000:1 ANSI contrast ratio displays. I'm talking about measured data. Not about data taken from specs of course.
