That performance is hindered by my (not the fastest) system and setup.

I bet Kevin will chime in on his setup for the twelve camera concert, but when it comes to performance as it seems like you have issues with - transcoding to a proxy format is your friend.

I would really appreciate a tip as how to set things up and/or utilize proxy and/or optimized media to have the timeline play out smooth.

Hi Jussi. What you are asking is not specific to Multicam but to performance in general. I highly suggest you transcode all your footage to DNxHD36 or PRORES Proxy prior to setting up any project for editing in DaVinci Resolve. Then you don't need to think about optimising your media or run things in lower resolutions. Working with high resolution media in DaVinci Resolve will always, need to be cached or optimised and come with a risk of slow playback.

  3. Amazing course! I have watched all the color grading courses online and this is definitely the best!

I have to say loud that I think the "advanced" and "insider" color courses out there are nothing else than pure crap. It's indie guys without any theoretical or practical understanding of color theory  experimenting with sending the color wheels in all directions without a purpose, destroying the images and creating useless looks nobody wants to see.  I have seen tons of that crap and I know I will never use a penny on one of those sites ever again.

I also want to say that I received the "colorist newsletter" today from some of the same guys and this course wasn't mentioned once. Even though all the buzz it has created in the colorist community and how extremely well it has been received by many of the colorists on the very top. Go figure.

Thanks for creating this course and all the other high quality courses on the site. I will stand by your side with my support and I hope the rest of the community will too.

  4. Second that Brian. Kevin was the one that got me up to speed with Avid ages ago and the best I can think of to teach editing in Resolve.

The quality of all the courses on this site is extremely high and made me cancel the subscriptions on the other Resolve learning sites months ago. Thanks Kevin and thanks Lowepost.
