  1. Ah, well this de-mystified it a bit! https://www.filmlight.ltd.uk/training/resources/baselight/FLT-BL-0032-Baselight-16.php
  2. Would anyone here consider the Avid edition to be something to consider vs. Davinvci Resolve or does one need to buy into the full system to really enjoy the benefits of grading with Baselight?
  3. This is probably a long shot but here goes: If any Baselight users are feeling generous I would love to see some tutorials that follow along with a scene grade from start to finish. Even just video screen captures would be interesting if you don't have time to narrate. I am curious as to how working with layers inside of Baselight effects the color grading process as my current approach is node based. I've gleaned a few insights from the case studies here but reading about technique is very different from witnessing it first hand.
  4. Great film. Oscar Isaac is terrific!
  5. Unfortunately the light version included with AE doesn't have the "remove" panel. I really want to experiment with making the clean plate in Photoshop and seeing how well Mocha Pro interpolates the data (especially the match lighting feature). If I get a chance to play around with it, I will report back!
  6. Anyone have experience with the mocha pro work flow? I've watched a few videos now on blemish removal and the match light feature seems very cool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdIbciXqgic
  7. For myself, the "best" color grading system is the one I need to know to stay employed. All of the shops I freelance at in my area are DaVinci Resolve based, so that's my go to. I'm intrigued by Baselight but don't see a viable option to include it in my tool kit at the moment (shops here are Premiere CC based as well so no editions option).
  8. Beautiful color and great break down. Thanks!
  9. This would be nice. Starting to learn some blemish removal techniques in Fusion but it would be cool to do inside of DR. https://vimeo.com/232314257
  10. Anyone here have experience with Cinegrain products? http://www.cinegrain.com/texture
  11. I'm finding the matte method to work quite nicely. Experimenting with it on this grade with footage I shot on the C100 MKII. Pretty happy with the results so far but I would like to explore some other methods mentioned here as well.
  12. Just watched a couple "getting started" videos for Fusion followed by this basic cloning video. Did a quick test removing a blemish on a subject and very impressed with the results. Looking forward to exploring this more!
  13. Hi Ira, I would love to learn more about this technique. As it will be my first time diving into Fusion, do you have any tutorial links that you would suggest?
  14. Love everything about this show! Thanks for the insights (the videos from the grading sessions are great!).
  15. Greetings, Trying to figure out the Baselight purchasing structure. I have e-mailed Baselight but so far no response so thought I would ask here. I am currently delving into the student edition which works as a stand alone application. My understanding right now is that moving forward I would need to purchase an entire baselight system in order to keep using the standard alone version which is not something I need at the moment. The most realistic option if I end up adding Baselight to my tool set would be the Avid Editions version. Does the Avid edition have the complete features of the standalone ap or is this more a "light" version of the full application? The studios I freelance at currently use DR but I am intrigued by Baselight and am enjoying exploring the tool set (though I am finding that online resources for learning pale in comparison to DR, something that Baselight says they are addressing). Any info on the pricing structure and/or the Avid version would be appreciated..
  16. I wasn't able to figure out pricing structure for Baselight from their website. Is Baselight 5.0 available as a standalone ap like DR or is it tied to a hardware system? I do see they have an Avid version so that could be an option if not.
  17. Hi Margus, I am just now diving into the student edition of Baselight myself. Which tutorials did you find the most helpful?
